Your Committee was authorized by the Senate on March 20, 2001 to examine international trade in agricultural and agri-food products, and short-term and long-term measures for the health of the agricultural and the agri-food industry in all regions of Canada.

Pursuant to Section 2:07 of the Procedural Guidelines for the Financial Operations of Senate Committees, the Budget submitted to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration and the report of said Committee are appended to this report.

APPENDIX (B) TO THE REPORT

The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration has examined the budget presented to it by the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry for the proposed expenditures of the said Committee for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2003 for the purpose of its Special Study on international trade in agricultural and agri-food products, and short-term and long-term measures for the health of the agricultural and the agri-food industry in all regions of Canada, as authorized by the Senate on Tuesday, March 20, 2001.  The approved budget is as follows:

Professional and Other Services $   27,000
Transport and Communications $ 120,200
Other Expenditures $   2,000

Total $ 149,200
