The Standing Senate Committee on Defence and Security
has the honour to present its
SIXTH REPORT
Your
Committee was authorized by the Senate on April 16, 2002, to examine and report on the need for a national
security policy for Canada, respectfully requests, that it be empowered, to engage
the services of such counsel and technical, clerical and other personnel as may
be necessary, and to adjourn from place to place within and outside Canada for
the purpose of such study.
Pursuant
to section 2:07 of the Procedural Guidelines for the Financial Operation of
Senate Committees, the budget submitted to the Standing Committee on
Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration and the report thereon of that
Committee are appended to this report.

APPENDIX (B)
The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and
Administration has examined the budget presented to it by the Chair of the Standing
Committee on National Security and Defence for the proposed
expenditures of the said Committee for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2003 for
the purpose of its Special Study on the need for a national security policy for
Canada, as authorized by the Senate on Tuesday, April 16, 2002.
