The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry
has the honour to present its
SECOND REPORT
Your
Committee, was authorized by the Senate
on February 16, 2004 to
hear from time to time witnesses, including both individuals and representatives
from organizations, on the present state and the future of agriculture and
forestry in Canada, respectfully requests that it be empowered to engage the
services of such counsel and technical, clerical and other personnel as may be
necessary.
Pursuant
to Section 2:07 of the Procedural
Guidelines for the Financial Operations of Senate Committees, the Budget
submitted to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and
Administration and the report of said Committee are appended to this report.

Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration has examined
the budget presented to it by the Standing
Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry
for the proposed expenditures of the said Committee for the fiscal year ending
March 31, 2004 for the purpose of its special study on the present state and
future of agriculture and forestry in Canada, as authorized by the Senate on
Monday, February 16, 2004.
The approved budget is as follows:

in Canada.
That
the committee submit its final report no later than June 30, 2004.
