The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans
has the honour to present its
FOURTH REPORT
Your Committee, which was authorized by the Senate on Monday, December 9, 2013, to examine and report on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada, respectfully requests funds for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015.
Pursuant to Chapter 3:06, section 2(1)(c) of the Senate Administrative Rules, the budget submitted to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration and the report thereon of that committee, recommending a partial release of $263,645, are appended to this report.

Extract from the Journals of the Senate, Monday, December 9, 2013:
The Honourable Senator Manning moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator:
That the Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans be authorized to examine and report on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada; and
That the papers and evidence received and taken and work accomplished by the committee on this subject during the First Session of the Forty-First Parliament be referred to the committee; and
That the committee report from time to time to the Senate but no later than June 30, 2015, and that the committee retain all powers necessary to publicize its findings for 180 days after the tabling of the final report.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

THURSDAY, April 3, 2014
The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration has examined the budget presented to it by the Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans for the proposed expenditures of the said Committee for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015, for the purpose of its special study on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada, as authorized by the Senate on Monday, December 9, 2013. The said budget is as follows:
Activity 1: Newfoundland, Labrador and Nova Scotia | $159,044 |
Activity 2: Norway and Scotland | --- |
Activity 3: New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Quebec | $104,601 |
TOTAL | $263,645 |
(includes funds for public hearings and a fact finding missions; decision on activity 2 deferred)
