The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs met this day at 3:21 p.m. in room 256-S of the Centre Block, the Chairman, the Honourable John B. Stewart, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Anderson, Berntson, Bolduc, Carney, Corbin, De Bané, Doody, Grafstein, Lynch-Staunton, Stewart, Stollery and Whelan. (12)

The committee resumed its consideration of Bill C-61, an Act to implement the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement.
Mr. Lax made a presentation and answered questions.
Mr. Janzen made a presentation and answered questions.
The committee agreed to append to its minutes of proceedings a letter from Mr. Janzen to the Honourable Lloyd Axworthy, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
Messrs Lynk and Kubursi made a presentation and answered questions.
Mr. Fogel and Mrs. Molot made a presentation and answered questions.
Mr. MacDonald made a presentation and answered questions.
Senator De Bané moved -- THAT the brief tabled by the National Council on Canada-Arab Relations as well as the presentation by Mr. Ron MacDonald, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, be appended to the committee's proceedings.
Agreed.
At 7:11 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
