Extract from the Journals of the Senate, Tuesday, April 22, 1997:

Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator Stewart, seconded by the Honourable Senator Bacon, for the second reading of Bill C-77, An Act concerning an order under the International Development (Financial Institutions) Assistance Act.

After debate, The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

The Bill was then read the second time.

The Honourable Senator Stewart moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Hébert, that the Bill be referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
