The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 09:01 a.m. in room 705, Victoria Building.

Members of the Committee present: The Honourable Senators Carstairs, Chalifoux, Fitzpatrick, Oliver, Perry Poirier, Robichaud, Rossiter and Stratton (8).

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Research Officer.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

WITNESS:

From Keystone Agricultural Producers:

Mr. Don Dewar, President.

Pursuant to its order of reference to study the present state and the future of agriculture in Canada, consideration of farm income issues.

The Clerk informed the committee of the unavailable absence of the Chair and the Deputy Chair and presided over the election of an Acting Chair.

The Honourable Senator Chalifoux moved -- That the Honourable Senator Fitzpatrick be Acting Chair of the committee for this meeting.

The question being put on motion, -- it was agreed.

Mr. Don Dewar made a presentation and answered questions.

At 10:35 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
