The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment, and Natural Resources met at 9:32 a.m. this day, in Room 257 East Block, the Chair, the Honourable Nicholas W. Taylor, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Christensen, Cochrane, Eyton, Kelleher, P.C., Kenny, Mahovlich, Taylor and Wiebe (8).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Grafstein (1).
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Lynne Myers and Mollie Dunsmuir, Research Officer.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on May 10, 2001, the committee proceeded to study Bill S-18 (See Issue No. 11, Tuesday, June 5, 2001 and Thursday, June 7, 2001 for full text of the Order of Reference).

Yves De Montigny made a presentation and Mr. De Montigny and Mr. Faggiolo answered questions.
