Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator Ringuette, seconded by the Honourable Senator Chaput, for the second reading of Bill C-30, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 23, 2004.

The Bill was then read the second time.

The Honourable Senator Day moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Léger, that the Bill be referred to the Standing Senate Committee on National Finance.
