The Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples met in camera this day, at 9:35 a.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Vernon White, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Brazeau, Campbell, Demers, Lovelace Nicholas, Munson, Patterson, Raine, Sibbeston, Watt and White (11).
In attendance: Shauna Troniak and Wren Nasr, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, the committee continued its consideration of the subject-matter of those elements contained in Division 8 of Part 4 of Bill C-45, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 29, 2012 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 26.)
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.
It was agreed that the report be adopted.
It was agreed that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to approve the final text of the report with any grammatical, editing, formatting, and other such minor changes to wording and emphasis that may be required.
At 10:17 a.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.
