The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9:32 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Dawson, Doyle, Eggleton, P.C., Greene, MacDonald, Merchant, Unger and Verner, P.C. (9).

In attendance: Alexandre Lavoie and Zachary Alaoui, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, the committee continued its consideration of the subject-matter of those elements contained in Division 5, 12 and 20 of Part 4 of Bill C-45, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 29, 2012 and other measures. Mr. Houle made an opening statement and, together with Ms. Logan, answered questions.
