The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 10:29 a.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable A. Raynell Andreychuk, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Ataullahjan, Beyak, Downe, Eaton, Fortin-Duplessis, Johnson, Raine, Rivard, Robichaud, P.C. and Smith, P.C. (Cobourg) (11).

In attendance: Mark Palmer, Acting Procedural Clerk; James Lee, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, the committee continued its study to examine the potential for increased Canada-United States-Mexico trade and investment, including in growth areas in key resource, manufacturing and service sectors; the federal actions needed to realize any identified opportunities in these key sectors; and opportunities for deepening cooperation at the trilateral level. Pierre Pyun, Vice-President, Government Affairs.

The chair made an opening statement.

Mr. Suárez made a statement and answered questions.

At 11:35 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 11:38 a.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. Pyun made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:28 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
