The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 6:01 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black (Ontario), Dagenais, Doyle, Gagné, Griffin, Maltais, Petitclerc and Woo (8).

In attendance: Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 9, 2017, the committee continued its study on the potential impact of the effects of climate change on the agriculture, agri-food and forestry sectors. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 26.)

The Honourable Dustin Duncan, Minister of Environment;

Lin Gallagher, Deputy Minister of Environment;

David Brock, Assistant Deputy Minister, Ministry of Environment;

William Greuel, Assistant Deputy Minister, Ministry of Agriculture.

The chair made a statement.

Minister Duncan and Minister Stewart made statements and, together with Ms. Gallagher, Mr. Greuel and Mr. Brock, answered questions.

At 7:07 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
