The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met in camera this day at 6:02 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Black (Ontario), Dagenais, Doyle, Gagné, Griffin, Maltais, Mercer, Oh, Petitclerc and Woo (11).

In attendance: Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, the committee continued its consideration of the subject matter of those elements contained in Part 5, insofar as that Part relates to farming of Bill C-74, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 27, 2018 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 50.)

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report, in camera.

It was agreed that:

The draft report for the committee's consideration of the subject matter of those elements contained in Part 5, insofar as that Part relates to farming of Bill C-74, as amended, be adopted; and

That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to approve the final version of the report taking into consideration this meeting's discussion, and with any necessary editorial, grammatical and translation changes required.

At 7:08 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
