The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 8:03 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington
St., the chair, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bernard, Black (Ontario), Dagenais, Deacon (Nova
Scotia), Doyle, Griffin, Kutcher, Maltais, Mercer, Miville-Dechêne, Moodie and Oh (12).
In attendance: Corentin Bialais and Xavier Deschenes-Philion, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research
Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 15, 2018, the committee continued
its study on how the value-added food sector can be more competitive in global markets. (For complete text of the order
of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 47).

At 9:04 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:10 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Hughes made a statement and answered questions.
At 10 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
