The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce met this day at 4:19 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable David Tkachuk, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Campbell, Day, Greene, MacDonald, Massicotte, Ringuette, Smith, Tannas and Tkachuk (9).

Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Patterson and Wallin (2).

In attendance: Brett Capstick and Michaël Lambert-Racine, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, the committee continued its study and report on the development of a national corridor in Canada as a means of enhancing and facilitating commerce and internal trade. (For the complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 8.)

WITNESSES:

First Nations Major Projects Coalition:

Chief Joseph Bevan, Chair;

Chief Corrina Leween, Member;

Angel Ransom, Councillor and Member;

Del Nattrass, Economic and Financial Advisor.

First Nations Financial Management Board:

Harold Calla, Executive Chair.

The chair made a statement.

Mr. Bevan, Ms. Leween, Ms. Ransom and Mr. Calla each made a statement and, together, answered questions.

At 5:57 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
