The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met in camera this day at 11:31 a.m., in room W120, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Boehm, Day, Deacon (Ontario), Duncan, Forest, Klyne, Loffreda, Mockler, Smith, Tannas and Tkachuk (12).

In attendance: Alex Smith and Shaowei Pu, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, December 5, 2019, the committee continued its examination of the Supplementary Estimates (A) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2020.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report in camera.

It was agreed that senators’ staff be permitted to remain in the room during the in camera meeting.

The chair made a statement.

It was agreed that the draft report, as amended, be adopted; and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to approve the final version of the report, taking into consideration this meeting’s discussions, and with any necessary editorial, grammatical and translation changes required.

It was agreed that the chair be authorized to table the report in the Senate, at the earliest opportunity.

At 12:39 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
