The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Commerce and the Economy met this day at 11:30 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Pamela Wallin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Gignac, Loffreda, Marshall, Martin, Massicotte, Varone, Wallin and Yussuff (10).
Participating in the meeting: Brett Howard, Analyst, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 9, 2024, the committee began its consideration of Bill C-294, An Act to amend the Copyright Act (interoperability).

Luc Laforest, Senior Policy Analyst, Copyright and Trademark Policy Directorate.

At 12:34 p.m., the committee, 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to discuss a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that each committee member be allowed to have one staff member present during the in camera portion of the meeting.
At 12:40 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
