The Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, met this day in Room 257, East Block, at 9:20 a.m., the Honourable Lorna Milne, Chair, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beaudoin, Buchanan, P.C., Fraser, Joyal, P.C., Milne, Moore and Rompkey, P.C. (7).

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Grafstein (1).

In attendance: David Goetz and Nancy Holmes, Research Officers, Research Branch, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 18, 1998, the Committee continued its consideration of Bill C-25, An Act to amend National Defence Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts. (For full text of Order of Reference, please see Issue 33, Thursday, October 1, 1998 )
