The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry has the honour to table its

FIRST REPORT

Your committee, which was authorized by the Senate to incur expenses for the purpose of its examination and consideration of such matters as were referred to it, tables, pursuant to rule 12-26(2), the following report on expenses incurred for that purpose during the First Session of the Forty-second Parliament:

 2.With respect to its special study to examine international market access priorities for the Canadian agricultural and agri-food sector, authorized by the Senate on Thursday, January 28, 2016 (final report tabled May 2017):

 3.With respect to its special study to examine the acquisition of farmland in Canada and its potential impact on the farming sector, authorized by the Senate on Thursday, October 6, 2016 (final report tabled March 2018):

 4.With respect to its special study to examine the potential impact of the effects of climate change on the agriculture, agri-food and forestry sectors and the actions undertaken to increase adaptation and emissions reduction strategies, as well as to know more about the opportunities within their sectors that come with climate change, authorized by the Senate on Thursday, March 9, 2017 (final report tabled December 2018):

 5.With respect to its special study to examine how the value-added food sector can be more competitive in global markets, authorized by the Senate on Thursday, February 15, 2018 (final report tabled July 2019):

During the session, your committee held 145 meetings (260 hours 59 minutes), heard 636 witnesses and submitted 19 reports in relation to its work. Your committee examined one bill, the subject matter of two budget bills and received a total of ten orders of reference.

During the First Session of the Forty-third Parliament the committee was not created and therefore did not incur any expenses.
