The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce has the honour to table its

FIRST REPORT

Your committee, which was authorized by the Senate to incur expenses for the purpose of its examination and consideration of such matters as were referred to it, tables, pursuant to rule 12-26(2), the following report on expenses incurred for that purpose during the First Session of the Forty-second Parliament:

1.Witness Expenses$54,055

 2. With respect to its special study on issues pertaining to internal barriers to trade, authorized by the Senate on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 (final report tabled June 2016):

Travel Expense$24,227

 3. With respect to its special study on the current and emerging issues of the banking sector and monetary policy of the United States, authorized by the Senate on Thursday, February 16, 2017 (final report tabled June 2017):

Travel Expense$44,563

 4. With respect to its special study on issues and concerns pertaining to cyber security and cyber fraud, authorized by the Senate on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 (final report tabled October 2018):

Travel Expense$12,421

During the session, your committee held 141 meetings (201 hours, 68 minutes), heard 504 witnesses and submitted 32 reports in relation to its work. Your committee examined 7 bills , the subject-matter of 6 budget bills, 11 special studies, 2 government responses and received a total of 26 orders of reference.

During the First Session of the Forty-third Parliament the committee was not created and therefore did not incur any expenses.
