Ottawa – Following consultations with the leaders and facilitators of all recognized parties and parliamentary groups, the Speaker of the Senate has extended the adjournment period until Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 2 p.m.

Please note that, if the public interest so requires, the Senate may sit earlier than the date and time indicated above in light of progress in the House of Commons on consideration of the Senate’s amendments to Bill C-7.

Under the Rules of the Senate, the Speaker can extend a period of adjournment if it is deemed that the public interest does not require the Senate to meet at the originally specified date and time. Accordingly, the Senate will not be convened on Friday, February 26, 2021, at 10 a.m.
