In June 2015, the Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources published its final report on how – and how much – energy is used in Canada’s three territories. After studying the issue for over a year, holding 18 hearings, listening to 42 witnesses, and making 5 site visits, the committee concluded that the federal government can help the territories address their energy challenges while harnessing its energy opportunities to form a stronger and more prosperous North. Their final report made five recommendations to make this a reality.
