The Committee of Selection met this day, at 11:35 a.m., the Chairman, the Honourable Senator Hébert, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: The Honourable Senators Corbin, Hébert, Kinsella, Lewis, MacDonald (Halifax), Marchand and Poulin (7).

Other Senator present: The Honourable Senator Petten.

In attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

The Committee proceeded with the nomination of Senators to serve on the Joint Committee on the Library of Parliament.

The Honourable Senators Kinsella and Petten moved, - That the Honourable Senators Bolduc, Gigantès and Riel be nominated to the Joint Committee on the Library of Parliament.

The Committee proceeded with the nomination of Senators to serve on the Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations.

The Honourable Senators Kinsella moved, - That the Honourable Senators Anderson, Cogger, Grimard, Kelly, Lewis, Maheu, Rizzuto and Taylor be nominated to the Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations.

The Committee proceeded with the nomination of Senators to serve on the Joint Committee on Official Languages.

The Honourable Senators Kinsella and Marchand moved, - That the Honourable Senators Beaudoin, Poulin, Rivest, Robichaud and Roux be nominated to the Joint Committee on Official Languages.

The Committee proceeded with the nomination of Senators to serve on the Special Joint Committee on a Code of Conduct.

The Honourable Senators Kinsella moved, - That the Honourable Senators Angus, Bosa, Di Nino, Gauthier, Oliver, Spivak and Stollery be nominated to the Special Joint Committee on a Code of Conduct.

The Honourable Senator Lewis, - That the Chairman report to the Senate the nominations agreed to at this day's meeting.

The question being put on the motion, - it was agreed.

At 11:55 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
