Extract of the Journals of the Senate of Thursday, November 28, 1996:

Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator Losier-Cool moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Mercier, for the second reading of Bill C-41, An Act to amend the Divorce Act, the Family Orders and Agreements Enforcement Assistance Act, the Garnishment, Attachment and Pension Diversion Act and the Canada Shipping Act.

After debate,

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

The Bill was then read the second time.

The Honourable Senator Losier-Cool moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Poulin, that the Bill be referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology.
