The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration met in camera at 9 a.m., this day, the Chairman, the Honourable Senator Bill Rompkey, P.C., presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, DeWare, P.C., Di Nino, Forrestall, LeBreton, Losier-Cool, Maheu, Nolin, Poulin, Robichaud, P.C. (Saint-Louis-de-Kent), Rompkey, P.C. and Stollery (12).

Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Oliver, Prud'homme, P.C., Robertson and Stewart (4).

In attendance: Mr. Paul Bélisle, Clerk of the Senate, and other Senate officials.

At 10:55 a.m. the committee proceeded in public.

98-06-04/157 -- Budget Application of the Foreign Affairs Committee

It was agreed that the 1998-99 budget application of the Foreign Affairs Committee (Asia-Pacific region) for the amount of $17,200 be adopted.

At 11:10 a.m., the committee proceeded in camera.

At 11:55 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
