Extract from the Journals of the Senate dated Wednesday, March 1, 2000:
The Honourable Senator Bacon moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Maheu:
That the Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications, in accordance with Rule 86(1)(p), be authorized to examine and report upon the policy issues for the 21st century in communications technology, its consequence, competition and the outcome for consumers; and
That the Committee submit its final report to the Senate no later than June 15, 2001.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
