The Subcommittee on Communications met this day at 2:10 p.m., in room 705, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Marie-P. Poulin, presiding.

Members of the subcommittee present: The Honourable Senators Finestone, P.C., Poulin and Spivak (3).

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Oliver. (1)

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, February 23, 2000, and the Orders of Reference adopted by Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications on Wednesday, February 16, 2000 and Wednesday, March 1, 2000, the subcommittee continued its study of the policy issues for the 21st century in communications technology, its consequence, competition and the outcome for consumers. Each group made their presentation and answered questions from senators.

At 5:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
