The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry has the honour to present its

SEVENTH REPORT

Your Committee was authorized by the Senate on March 20, 2001, to examine international trade in agricultural and agri-food products, and short-term and long-term measures for the health of the agricultural and the agri-food industry in all regions of Canada.

Pursuant to section 2:07 of the Procedural Guidelines for the Financial Operation of Senate Committees, the budget application submitted was printed in the Journals of the Senate ofApril 5, 2001. On April 24, 2001, the Senate approved the release of $60 000 to the Committee.

The report of the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration recommending the release of additional funds is appended to this report.

The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration has examined the budget presented to it by the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry for the proposed expenditures of the said Committee for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2002 for the purpose of its Special Study on international trade in agricultural and agri-foods products, and short-term and long-term measures for the health of the agricultural and agri-food industry in all regions of Canada, as authorized by the Senate on Tuesday, March 20, 2001. The Committee recommends the release of the following additional funds:

$ 112,200

Other Expenditures   

$ 2,000

The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration has examined and approved the supplementary budget presented to it by the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry for the proposed expenditures of the said Committee for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2002 for the purpose of its Special Study on international trade in agricultural and agri-foods products, and short-term and long-term measures for the health of the agricultural and agri-food industry in all regions of Canada, as authorized by the Senate on Tuesday, March 20, 2001. The said supplementary budget is as follows:
