The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries met this day at 7:08 p.m. in room 257, East Block, the Chair, the Honourable Gerald J. Comeau, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Comeau, Cook, Johnson, Mahovlich, Phalen and Watt (7).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Finnerty (1).
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch, Library of Parliament: Claude Emery, Research Officer.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 13, 2001, the committee continued its examination upon the matters relating to the fishing industry. (See Issue No. 1, March 20, 2001, for the full text of the Order of Reference.)
Mr. Cooley made a statement.
Dr. Clarke made a statement. Mr. Cooley and Dr. Clarke, with Messrs Papst, Bergmann, Linsey, Shortt and Fudge, answered questions.
It was agreed - That the material submitted by the Nayumivik Landholding Corporation would be filed as an exhibit with the Clerk of the Committee (Exhibit 5900 F1-SS-1, 11"30").
At 9:02 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
