The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 6:17 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the Acting Chair, the Honourable Charlie Watt, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Cochrane, Cook, and Watt (4).

In attendance: Claude Emery, Research Analyst, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

The committee resumed consideration of its Order of Reference pertaining to its study on matters relating to quota allocations and benefits to Nunavut and Nunavik fishermen. (See Issue No. 8 of the Committee Proceedings.)

WITNESSES:

From Jencor Fisheries:

Ms. Leesee Papatsie, Owner.

From Tri-Nav Limited:

Mr. Trevor Decker, President.

From Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated:

Ms. Cathy Towtongie, President;

Mr. Gabriel Niglugayuq, Director, Wildlife Department.

Ms. Papatsie and Mr. Decker made a presentation and answered questions.

Ms. Towtongie and Mr. Niglugayuq made a presentation and answered questions.

At 8:44 p.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the Chair.
