During the session under consideration, your committee heard from seventy-one (71) witnesses, held forty-one (41) meetings and considered seven (7) Orders of Reference.

Your committee examined four (4) bills including: Bill C-6, An Act to amend the International Boundary Waters Treaty Act; Bill C-32, An Act to implement the Free Trade Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Republic of Costa Rica; Bill C-35, An Act to amend the Foreign Missions and International Organizations Act; and Bill C-50, An Act to amend certain Acts as a result of the accession of the People's Republic of China to the Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization.

Your committee travelled on a fact-finding visit to Washington from May 14 to 16, 2001.

In all, your committee issued sixteen (16) reports in relation to its work.
