The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met at 9:35 a.m., this day, in room 2, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Donald H. Oliver, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Downe, Eggleton, P.C., Murray, P.C., Oliver, Ringuette and Segal (6).
In attendance: Odette Madore, Research Officer, Library of Parliament; Tõnu Onu, Committee Clerk, Committees Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, the committee began its consideration of the examination of the Supplementary Estimates (A) laid before Parliament for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2006.
WITNESSES:
Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat:
David Moloney, Assistant Secretary, Expenditure Management Sector;
Laura Danagher, Executive Director, Expenditure Operations and Estimates Directorate, Expenditure Management Sector.
The Chair made a statement.
Mr. Moloney made a statement and, together with Ms Danagher, answered questions.
At 11:35 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
