Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator Moore, seconded by the Honourable Senator Banks, for the second reading of Bill S-224, An Act to amend the Parliament of Canada Act (vacancies).

The bill was then read the second time.

The Honourable Senator Moore moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Day, that the bill be referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs.
