The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 8:06 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Eaton, Fairbairn, P.C., Mahovlich, Mercer, Mockler, Ogilvie, Plett, Rivard and Robichaud, P.C. (9).
In attendance: David Surprenant, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; and Mona Ishack, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 11, 2010, the committee continued its consideration of the current state and future of Canada's forest sector. (For complete text of order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1.)

Craig Crawford, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Ms. Kiraly, Mr. Crawford and Mr. Wasilenkoff each made opening statements and, together, answered questions.
