The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce met this day at 4:20 p.m, in room 9, Victoria Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Céline Hervieux-Payette, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Frum, Gerstein, Greene, Harb, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Kochhar, Massicotte, Mockler, Moore, Ringuette and St. Germain, P.C. (11).
In attendance: John Bulmer, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, the committee began its examination of Bill S-3, An Act to implement conventions and protocols concluded between Canada and Colombia, Greece and Turkey for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.

Mr. Castonguay made a statement and, with Mr. Wach and Mr. Athenaios, answered questions.
