The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day, at 12:06 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Chaput, Day, Dickson, Eggleton, P.C., Finley, Gerstein, Marshall, Murray, P.C., Neufeld, Poulin, Ringuette and Runciman (12).
In attendance: Lydia Scratch and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Francine Pressault, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 10, 2010, the committee began its examination of Bill C-9, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 4, 2010 and other measures.

Tim Wach, Office of the Assistant Deputy Minister;

The chair made an opening statement.
Mr. Wach made a statement and, with Mr. Lalonde, answered questions.
Mr. Achadinha made a statement and answered questions.
