The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 6:47 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Dawson, Fox. P.C., Frum, Housakos, MacDonald, Martin, Mercer, Plett and Zimmer (9).

In attendance: Terry Thomas, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; and Mona Ishack, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, the committee continued its study on emerging issues related to the Canadian airline industry. (For complete text of order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4).

WITNESS:

British Columbia Aviation Council (by video conference):

Jamie Molloy, Director.

The chair made an opening statement.

Mr. Molloy made a presentation and answered questions.

At 7:43 p.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.

The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cochrane, Dawson, Frum, Johnson, MacDonald, Martin, Mercer, Merchant, Plett and Zimmer (10).

Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Downe and Meredith (2).

In attendance: Dean Ruffilli, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Charlottetown Airport Authority Inc.:

Doug Newson, Chief Executive Officer.
