The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 10:30 a.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable A. Raynell Andreychuk, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Downe, Finley, Fortin-Duplessis, Johnson, Mahovlich, Nolin, Robichaud, P.C., Smith, P.C. (Cobourg), Wallace and Wallin (11).
In attendance: Natalie Mychajlyszyn and Brian Hermon, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, the committee continued its study on economic and political developments in the Republic of Turkey, their regional and global influences, the implications for Canadian interests and opportunities, and other related matters.

Mr. O'Daly made a statement and answered questions.
At 11:33 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 11:35 a.m., the committee resumed in camera.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 2, 2012, the committee continued its examination on Canadian foreign policy regarding Iran, its implications, and other related matters. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 6.)
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.
It was agreed that senators' staff be allowed to stay in the room.
It was agreed that the report be adopted, and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to approve the final version of the report, and with any necessary editorial, grammatical and translation changes required, including the addition of the executive summary.
At 11:50 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
