The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 10:29 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the Honourable Kelvin K. Ogilvie, Chair, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Cordy, Dyck, Eggleton, P.C., Housakos, Hubley, Martin, Ogilvie, Seidman, Seth, Verner, P.C., and Wallace (12).
In attendance: Karin Phillips and Julie Béchard, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 3, 2012, the committee continued its study on the subject-matter of those elements contained in Division 54 of Part 4 of Bill C-38, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 29, 2012 and other measures. At 11:25 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 11:29 a.m., the committee resumed.
Ms. Phillips and Ms. Pohlmann each made a statement and, together, answered questions.
At 12:19 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
