The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Buth, Callbeck, Chaput, Day, Eaton, Gerstein, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Mockler, Rivard and Smith (Saurel) (11).

In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Raphaëlle Deraspe, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; and Mark Palmer, Procedural Clerk, Committees Directorate.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, the committee continued its examination of the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 8.)

David Enns, Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Management Sector;

Iain Stewart, Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy Sector;

Robert Dunlop, Assistant Deputy Minister, Science and Innovation Sector.

Public Works and Government Services Canada:

Alex Lakroni, Chief Financial Officer, Finance and Administration Branch;

Pierre-Marc Mongeau, Assistant Deputy Minister, Real Property Branch.

Mr. Hannah made a statement and, together with Ms. Crossman, Mr. Andrews and Mr. Elgar, answered questions

At 7:45 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:48 p.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. Enns and Mr. Lakroni each made a statement and, together with Mr. Stewart, Mr. Dunlop and Mr. Mongeau, answered questions.

At 8:55 p.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.
