The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Chaput, Day, Eaton, Gerstein, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Maltais, Mockler and Wells (9).

In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Raphaëlle Deraspe, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 6, 2014, the committee began its examination of the Supplementary Estimates (B) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015.

WITNESSES:

Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat:

Bill Matthews, Comptroller General of Canada;

Marcia Santiago, Executive Director, Expenditure Management Sector.

National Defence:

Kevin Lindsey, Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Financial Officer;

Rear-Admiral Patrick Finn, Chief of Staff, Materiel Group;

Captain (Navy) Jeff Zwick, Acting Chief of Program.

Public Works and Government Services Canada:

Alex Lakroni, Chief Financial Officer, Finance and Administration Branch;

Pierre-Marc Mongeau, Assistant Deputy Minister, Real Property Branch;

Nancy Chahwan, Assistant Deputy Minister, Parliamentary Precinct Branch.

Mr. Matthews made a statement and, together with Ms. Santiago, answered questions.

At 10:25 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 10:30 a.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. Lindsey made a statement and, together with Rear-Admiral Finn and Captain Zwick, answered questions.

At 11:33 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
