The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Chaput, Day, Eaton, Gerstein, Hervieux- Payette, P.C., Mockler, Neufeld, Rivard and Smith (Saurel) (10).

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Andreychuk (1).

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, October 30, 2014, the committee continued its examination of the subject matter of Bill C-43, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 11, 2014 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 20.)

WITNESS:

The Honourable Senator A. Raynell Andreychuk, Chair, Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

The Honourable Senator Andreychuk made a statement and answered questions.

At 7:03 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:05 p.m., the committee, pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), resumed in camera to consider a draft report.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 6, 2014, the committee continued its examination of the Supplementary Estimates (B) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015. (For the complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 21.)

It was agreed that senators' staff be allowed to stay in the room.

It was agreed that the draft report on the Supplementary Estimates (B) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015 be adopted, as amended, and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be authorized to make minor editorial revisions.

At 7:57 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
