The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans has the honour to present its
FOURTH REPORT
Your Committee, which was authorized by the Senate on Monday, December 9, 2013, to examine and report on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada, respectfully requests funds for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015.
Pursuant to Chapter 3:06, section 2(1)(c) of the Senate Administrative Rules, the budget submitted to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration and the report thereon of that committee, recommending a partial release of $263,645, are appended to this report.

The Honourable Senator Manning moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator :
That the Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans be authorized to examine and report on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada; and
That the papers and evidence received and taken and work accomplished by the committee on this subject during the First Session of the Forty-First Parliament be referred to the committee; and
That the committee report from time to time to the Senate but no later than June 30, 2015, and that the committee retain all powers necessary to publicize its findings for 180 days after the tabling of the final report.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
A budget authorization request in connection with this special study was adopted during the Second Session of the Forty-first Parliament for a travel activity in British Columbia anticipated to occur at the end of the fiscal year 2013-2014. The amount approved was $172,017.
GENERAL ESTIMATE OF THE TOTAL COST OF THE SPECIAL STUDY
Pursuant to Chapter 3:06, section 2(2) of the Senate Administrative Rules.
The Committee submits the present budget authorization request in connection with this special study for the fiscal year 2014-2015 in the amount of $516,745. The total estimated cost for the whole study amounts to $688,762.
