The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9 a.m., in room 1200/1300, Segal Building, Simon Fraser University, the deputy chair, the Honourable Michael L. MacDonald, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black, MacDonald, Mercer and Neufeld (4).
In attendance: Jed Chong, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament; Tony Spears, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the committee continued its study on the development of a strategy to facilitate the transport of crude oil to eastern Canadian refineries and to ports on the East and West coasts of Canada. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 2.)

Mr. Vickers made a statement and, together with Mr. Kemerer and Mr. Wilson, answered questions.
At 10 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:18 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Metcs made a statement and answered questions with Ms. Ballard.
At 10:42 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:53 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Heyman made a statement and answered questions.
At 11:57 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
