The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9:31 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Bovey, Cormier, Doyle, Eggleton, P.C., Galvez, Griffin, Hartling, Mercer and Saint-Germain (10).
In attendance: Jed Chong and Nicole Sweeney, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
The clerk informed the committee of the unavoidable absences of the chair and deputy chair and presided over the election of an acting chair.
The Honourable Senator Eggleton moved:
That the Honourable Senator Mercer be the acting chair.
The question begin put on the motion, it was adopted.
The acting chair took the chair.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the committee continued its examination of the regulatory and technical issues related to the deployment of connected and automated vehicles. The acting chair made a statement.
Mr. Vincent made a statement and, together with Ms. Campbell and Mr. Proulx, answered questions.
At 10:39 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
