About the Committee

The Committee of Selection, which is neither a standing nor special committee, has the mandate pursuant to the Rules of the Senate to nominate, through reports to the Senate, the Speaker pro tempore and the Senators to serve on the standing committees and standing joint committees. The committee is also empowered to propose to the Senate from time to time changes in the membership of a committee.
