The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration met this day at 6:21 p.m. in room 160- S, Centre Block, for the purpose of organization, pursuant to rule 12-13.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Campbell, Comeau, P.C., Cordy, Downe, Doyle, Furey, Greene, Johnson, Lang, LeBreton, P.C., Manning, Munson, Smith (Saurel), and Tkachuk (14).

Also in attendance: Mr. Gary W. O'Brien, Clerk of the Senate, other senior Senate officials.

IE/2013-11-05/007(P) — Election of Chair

Pursuant to rule 12-13, the clerk of the committee presided over the election of the chair.

It was moved by the Honourable Senator Furey that the Honourable Senator Comeau, P.C., be elected chair of the committee.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

The Clerk invited Senator Comeau to take the chair.

IE/2013-11-05/008(P) — Election of Deputy Chair

It was moved by the Honourable Senator Tkachuk that the Honourable Senator Furey be elected deputy chair of the committee.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

At 6:26 p.m., the committee continued in camera.

At 6:49 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
