The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:31 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Larry Smith, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The honourable Senators Bellemare, Campbell, Marshall, Mitchell, Mockler, Neufeld and Smith (Saurel) (7).
In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, the committee continued its examination of the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)

Stéphane Dufour, Assistant Chief Statistician and CFO, Corporate Services;
Connie Graziadei, Assistant Chief Statistician, Census, Operations and Communications.
Canadian High Arctic Research Station (Polar Knowledge Canada):
David J. Scott, President;
Julie Brunet, Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services.
Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency:
Juliet Woodfield, Vice President, Corporate Services and CFO;
Heather Smith, Vice President, Operations.
Mr Dufour, Mr. Scott and Ms. Woodfield made statements and, together with Ms. Graziadei, Ms. Brunet and Ms. Smith, answered questions.
At 11:35 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 11:37 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to discuss a draft agenda for its special study on infrastructure funding.
It was agreed that senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room for the in camera meeting.
At 11:49 a.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.
