The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:47 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black, Cools, Eaton, Forest, Marshall, Mockler, Neufeld and Pratte (8).

In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, the committee continued its study on such issues as may arise from time to time relating to federal estimates generally, including the public accounts, reports of the Auditor General and government finance. Public Service Alliance of Canada:

Chris Aylward, National Executive Vice President;

Heather Finn, Special Projects Officer-Phoenix.

Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada:

Stéphane Aubry, Vice President;

Emily Watkins, Senior Advisor to the President.

Mr. Phillips, Mr. Aylward and Mr. Aubry each made a statement and, together with Mr. Vézina, Ms. Finn and Ms. Watkins, answered questions.

At 8:42 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
